Clinical Interests
I specialise exclusively in the assessment and treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions including injuries and fractures. I use the latest minimally invasive state-of-the-art arthroscopic techniques to accelerate the recovery process so that my patients can return to their work, activities and sports in a timely manner. Some of the more common problems with the shoulder and elbow that I regularly treat are listed below:
Shoulder Problems: subacromial impingement/bursitis, rotator cuff tears, calcific tendonitis, frozen shoulder, new and recurrent dislocations, SLAP tears, shoulder arthritis, acromio-clavicular (ACJ) arthritis and injuries/dislocations, shoulder fractures, clavicle fractures.
Elbow Problems: Elbow arthritis/stiffness, ulnar nerve compression (cubital tunnel syndrome), tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis), biceps tendon injuries, olecranon bursitis, dislocations and instability, elbow fractures
Research and Teaching
- Published extensively in peer-reviewed shoulder and elbow journals

- Currently setting up new clinical trials as a chief investigator to research new treatments in the field, in particular studying shoulder replacements, humeral fractures and frozen shoulder
- Regularly teach undergraduates, postgraduates and allied health professionals including specialist orthopaedic trainees
- Lead faculty for the upper limb University of Warwick Masters degree module with an honorary University contract
- Regularly teach on courses for junior and senior trainees with teaching ranging from basic trauma care up to advanced shoulder and elbow surgical techniques
